In French we have this saying, “les yeux plus gros que le ventre,” meaning eyes bigger than the stomach and that’s exactly how I describe my outings to the grocery store. Typically my days searching for groceries are spent grabbing anything and everything that may look good at the time and add it to my cart. Bad thing is – I am one person and fresh produce goes bad… fast. Enter in Blue Apron.
Blue Apron is a food service that delivers amazing recipes along with fresh ingredients, in the right amounts to your front doorstep weekly. I had heard so many great things about Blue Apron from so many friends and seen numerous reviews online so I figured I had to try it.
I’m going to be 100% honest. I am not a great cook and I’m not just saying that. I really can’t cook too much to be honest and cooking intimidates me so when I saw the photos on the instruction cards that came I literally thought I was going to fall on the floor because they looked so fancy! I have to say, I was so surprised how easy they were to make and how beautiful the finished meals turned out.
This was one of my weeks meals and it was SO relish and so easy to make,.. plus actually fun! I have to admit one of the worst parts of cooking is going to the grocery store and finding all the ingredients to actually re-create a meal. The beauty of Blue Apron is all the farm-fresh ingredients are literally delivered to your door in exactly the right proportions and you didn’t have to life a finger. No trip to the grocery store and no waste from any of the unused ingredients. In case you’re wondering how it is kept fresh – they deliver everything in a refrigerated box so all the ingredients stay fresh even if you’re not at home when your package arrives. I didn’t get home to mine until the evening and everything was perfect. On top it I love that I get to try new meals that I otherwise never would have.
If you guys are interested in trying Blue Apron, the first 20 readers will get two free meals on their first Blue Apron order!! There is absolutely no commitment and you can cancel anytime or skip meals. Click here to get to cooking!!
Big thanks to Blue Apron for sponsoring this post.
