Festival Gone Moody

“Festival gone moody” is the concept that inspired the above look. I’m taking “simple” blacks and whites but making them anything but ordinary in a festival-inspired look that plays off that bohemian vibe that we all love to go for this time of year. This look is all about going a little to the dark side and keeping with a simple palette of black and white and finding ways to make it work for your festival season. I’m pairing this white button down with this super comfy Target swim top to give it a bit of an edge. Since I’m wearing a swim top, I’m able to be a bit more playful and am less worried about playing safe — meaning I can unbutton my shirt a lot more and let the swim top shine through a bit more. To give off that effortless look, I’m showing off a little half tuck which also gives that bohemian flare. And of course, a festival is never complete with a little fringe!

The look above is a little bit offers some contrast from my first look. It adds a more color and includes patterns while still keeping the same theme, with both festival-inspired pieces and swimwear in the mix. I absolutely LOVE using one-piece swimsuits as a body suit type piece with pants or shorts worn over it. I can’t tell you how many compliments I’ve gotten over the years and this one is an eye-catcher with its deep v-neck. For festival season, it’s always fun to reach for those round sunglasses, and don’t forget to top off the look with some kind of hair accessory. I love wearing some kind of headband across my forehead for a total boho look!
