Okay before we get all excited about the title of this post, keep in mind I only said Miami Vibes, that doesn’t mean I’m actually in Miami although I desperately wish I was. Regardless, one of the best parts of living in San Diego is you can really get a taste of any kind of “vibe” you wont whether that be tropics, by the ocean with palm trees swaying back in forth, to city life or even the mountain game. While I’m usually the beach-type, it doesn’t mean I don’t love having the options, ya know what I mean? 

With that being said, it’s been a bit chilly lately so I’ve been wearing a lot of my heavier denim jeans with sweaters and I’m bundled up and loving every second of it! This look was super fun to do since I knew I wanted to style both these pieces separately at first. After looking at them side by side, I thought to myself, these colors go well together, why not try to pair them together! And Voila that’s how this little color blocking number came to be! Lately, I’ve been on a playing with makeup kick! Watching all the YouTube videos, reading blogs, reviews, and just having fun with any and all PR I’ve received and let me tell you it’s been so fun. Sometimes I’m having more fun discovering new skincare and then other times it’s makeup! Lately I’ve been into super hydrated, dewey and relatively natural looks. I’ve been loving cream based products and anything that can enhance and give me a “glow.” I thought it would be fun to share with you guys some of my favorite makeup finds as of late and what I looked to get this look today.

ColourPop Pretty Fresh Foundation – Don’t sleep on this foundation, I absolutely love it and it’s such a good price! It’s a hydrating foundation that gives light to medium coverage with a natural skin finish. Gives a nice dewey look but not too much that it feels too oily or greasy looking. I also like that it’s easy to layer your bronzer and/or blush over it without the product moving around etc.. Great product for the price.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – This is my “go-to” concealer for some time now. I just feel like it’s one of the best concealers that I have found for my under eye area that tends to crease. Because of this, I can never go for drying type concealers and always have to go for more creamy concealers and this one is it. For brightening, one of my favorite shades is Creme Brûlée, and for covering imperfections on the face I’d go with a shade close to your skin tone.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder in shade Honey – So it’s no surprise since everyone always talks about the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder that it’s on my list but the different here is that I’m talking about the shade Honey! It’s a relatively newer shade to the line and I’m obsessed and think you guys will love it!

FLOWER Beauty Gel Crush Lip & Cheek – Probably the most underrated product in the whole list. You guys, this product is my newest obsession of all time. I use it every single day and I can’t get enough of it. This product can be used on the lips and cheeks although my favorite is to use it on the cheeks – it’s absolutely beautiful and gives off the most natural dewey color to the cheeks. However I will preface by saying, if you are into a matte look, this won’t be for you because it does give a creamier look to the cheeks which I absolutely love. I just feel it radiates a glow that can’t be beat and I’m obsessed. There are three shades and each one is amazing – my favorite is strawberry crush.

KYLIE Cosmetics The Bronze Palette – I believe this may have been one of her first palettes and it’s a best seller for a reason – it’s bomb. If you’re the type that just wants an “everyday” matte palette, this is it. It has great basic colors, very pigmented and blends together well. I love that there are bronze neutrals which go well with my olive skin tone and can be glammed up for a more sophisticated look as well. I used it in the photos here today. I think it’s sold out right now but it comes back in stock often. If not, the KKW Honey Palette is an awesome alternative too which I want to get my hands on.

Makeup by Mario Master Pigment Pro Eyeliner – Oh my goodness you guys. If you need a creamy moveable eyeliner this is IT. I honestly can’t even use another eyeliner since I discovered this one. I’m not a big bold liquid eyeliner person, I’d rather go for a natural pencil look and build on that and lets be honest, eyeliner is HARD especially when it comes to a wing!! This product is genius. I love the brown shade but it comes in a bunch of colors and basically, one side is the pencil that is SUPER creamy which allows you to place the product where you want, then you flip the pencil around to the other side which has the most perfect brush that allows you the shape and smudge the line exactly as you want. Couldn’t be better if you are a little intimidated by eyeliner.

Persona Cosmetics Lip Liner – The color I used here is Dusk but these liners are super creamy and easy to apply on the lips I absolutely love them! On that note, I also topped off the lip with the Persona lip gloss in Twilight which is a beautiful sheer champagne gloss!

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops – Ugh, I love these drops so much! I actually had these in my makeup collection and kind of forgot about them until I watched a makeup artist I follow use them and I was reminded how amazing they were and started obsessing over them again. It can work well as a subtle beautiful highlight but can be built up to a WOW factor as well. Honestly they can work stunningly under foundation, on your collarbones/shoulders, cheekbones and anywhere you want a stunning glow. SO worth the splurge you guys, do it!

Luckily there is a way to achieve a completely natural yet glowing look without having to use a ton of different products. In fact – I can narrow it down to just five products TOTAL. Whether you are headed to work, class, girls night, errands or really just lounging around the house, here are my simple tips and tricks and how to achieve my 5 product makeup routine without sacrificing any time.

NO 1 – FOUNDATION (OR TINTED MOISTURIZER)

I’m a fan of applying some kind of a base whether that be foundation or tinted moisturizer. Plus, we all could use a little coverage from time to time, right? I like picking a product that has a sheer yet buildable coverage that way you can apply in areas that need more coverage and blend out as needed. Use fingertips or a brush for a quick natural feel or a beauty blender for a more full coverage look. Today I used Colourpop Pretty Fresh Foundation for this look.

NO 2 – CONCEALER

I always like to highlight and conceal the face. I tend to have dark circles and dark spots as well as stubborn acne spots at times so a little concealer is my best friend. One of my favorites is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer because it is a moisturizing formula that doesn’t look cakey or cling to dry patches. I like to blend it out with a concealer brush or beauty blender for the best application.

NO 3 – BRONZER

I absolutely love to add color and dimension back to the face with bronzer. I also love that bronzer can be multi-purpose. I absolutely love the FLOWER Heatwave Bronzing Essence because it can be used SO many difference ways. Apply directly onto the face where you want to contour/bronze (as I have today) or mix into your serum/foundation for a very radiant look. I especially love choosing a cream based bronzer like this because it checks off the “glow” aspect acting as a highlighter at the same time. 

NO 4 – CREAM BLUSH

I’m a huge fan of cream products as it is but when going for minimal product usage, this is key. Cream products can be used for multiple purposes and in the end using the same color for eyes, lips and cheeks tie the whole look together very well. I’ve used the Glo Skin Cream Blush today on the apple of my cheeks (applied with the butt of the beauty blender), then used my fingertips to apply a bit onto my eyelid and finally top off the lips with the same color. Trust me, it works seamlessly every time!

NO 5 – MASCARA

Since I don’t fill in my brows, I opted for mascara but if brows are more your thing you can definitely use a brow gel instead for this step, just kind of depends what you prefer. When going for a more natural look I like to stick to a brown mascara shade but preference is totally up to you! Today I used Colourpop BFF Mascara in Brownie Points. 

Voila! A simple yet natural 5 product makeup routine and it probably took you less than 5 minutes to create. Let me know if you guys have any questions!

It’s hard enough getting up everyday to workout but doing so when you aren’t happy and confident in what you’re wearing? Even harder. It’s actually proven (or so I’d like to believe) if you look feel hot in what you’re wearing then chances are you’re going to get out and force yourself to get that workout in on the books. I mean, I know I do.

So here is your guide to finding the most flattering activewear for your body:

Avoid wearing bright patterns on areas you want to hide

To get yourself pumped for the gym, you may feel inclined to throw on brightly colored, patterned workout clothes. Great for your psyche—not so much for your trouble spots. Not gonna lie, sometimes I want to throw on my bright colored highlighter set because I have this image in my head that I might look like Kendall Jenner but truth is – it just never happens. While prints and bright colors might be fun, they definitely can highlight parts of the body we just don’t want on display. Me included.

Compression Leggings are your best friend

Listen, I hate the jiggle just as much as you do. We’d all be less hesitant to run on the treadmill or climb the StairMaster if all those wobbly bits would just stay put, ya feel me? The solution here is compression spandex. If you have any insecurities about your lower body, solid, dark-colored spandex will be your best friend. There are tons of fitness pants out there that have some compression to help slim out your hips, butt, and thighs, which can boost your confidence and help you focus on the workout.

Short gals stick to full length cuts

I happen to be on the shorter side and let me tell you cropped leggings are NOT my friend. If you want your legs to look longer, avoid cropped cuts! The only time I will say to opt for a “crop” is to go for a 7/8 crop when ordering. I do this all the time since for me this length ends up being my perfect “full length” legging. Normal full length leggings bunch at the bottom which is also not a great look. I love when they hit right at the ankle for the most flattering feel.

Pay attention to padding

I have a larger chest so when I work out I tend to gravitate towards styles with built in support like an underwire or very supportive styles. I also remove the padding from absolutely every sports bra I own (personal preference). Women with smaller chests can often wear any type of bra while working out but it is still important to get some support so I would keep some light padding in to avoid the potential of stretch marks and if you want a little boost. If you’re not into the padding style, just make sure to choose a tight style to keep everything supported well.

Thanks to these pandemic times, loungewear has made a huge comeback and I’m not made about it one bit. I mean, wearing comfy clothing instead of tight jeans 90% of the time? I’ll take it! With that being said, thanks to the creation of some super cute & chic loungewear we can all fully embrace that work from couch lifestyle without totally tossing our style out the window.
