As an Esthetician, I have a love for taking care of my skin. While some people think this mostly means the skin on my face it’s actually very true to the skin of my body as well. It’s actually quite surprising to me how many people neglect to take care of the skin on their body when it comes to exfoliating and moisturizer and all that and trust me, it is so important.
Lately, I’ve been SUPER into the craze that is all about the wet skin moisturizers. I’ve been asked why these have become popular and well, without going super nerdy on you guys it’s a much more effective way to moisturize your skin. I actually suffer from extremely dry skin and I’ve talked about it in a lot of my skin care posts in the past. Using a wet skin moisturizer has actually helped my dry skin tremendously and here’s why.
After showering, your pores are opening which makes an easy pathway for moisture to absorb into your skin. The same goes with the skin on your face so why wouldn’t you do the same on your body? Lately I’ve been using the Curél Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer and it’s been working wonders on my super dry skin. Another thing I love? It sounds silly but lets be honest — who usually forgets to put on body lotion once they get out of the shower? I know I do. The benefit of using a wet skin moisturizer is you can literally have the bottle with you in the shower and when you finish showering you apply the lotion directly onto your wet skin. The lotion absorbs immediately and there’s no added work involved. You even feel 3x more hydrated, I swear! Then all you do after is just towel dry as normal and voila! It literally saves me about 15 minutes every day and I don’t have to continue re-applying throughout the day.
For a gal who is incredibly dry as it is, this has definitely helped me stay hydrated and most importantly – comfortable in my own skin. For anyone who wants to simplify their life and do something good for their skin, make sure to check out the new Curél Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer and make sure to let me know your thoughts as well!
