I get questions from time to time of you guys asking what I do with my days, how I find my time productive while working from home, and what my rituals are so I decided today to let you into my home (and life) for a morning! I wanted to create a little diary format of how I spend my mornings and share what my morning “musts” are so lets get right to it!
8:15am: Wake up. I’d like to say I’m an early riser but unfortunately I really like my sleep. I tend to me more of a night owl so I stay up late watching tv and/or working which in turn causes me to sleep in a little longer than I actually should but hey, what can you do? For those of you who think this is actually early then I feel better about my life. To me, waking up early is like 6am.
8:30am: Head downstairs and make coffee. This is literally the first thing I do every morning. To be honest, coffee doesn’t actually effect me in any way but I don’t really think I could go without having my morning cup daily. I know, I know, call me crazy.
8:45am-9:45am: Literally this is my favorite part of my day. I give myself at least an hour every morning to enjoy my coffee, make some breakfast (which usually consists of either eggs or ezekiel toast), play with Merlot, watch the news and catch up on my social media. For those of you who don’t know, I’m a total news junkie and watch it every single day so the morning is really when I catch up on everything. I love to sit in my pj’s and just stay cozy and enjoy the mornings. It’s seriously how I’ve always been and it helps me just mentally prepare for the day.
10am: Do my dishes (because I’m crazy OCD and need everything clean immediately) and head upstairs to get dressed.
10:15am: Because I work from home, it’s even more important for me to get dressed and ready for the day. I could easily stay in my pajamas all day and look like a slob but I choose not to. That’s not to say I’m always dressed to the nines but I am always ready in some sort of fashion whether that is casual or sporty.
10:30am: I am religious about my skin care routine. When I’m having my casual days (which is most of the time) I am all about simple easy to use products on my skin. After I wash my face, I apply about 2 pumps of the Vichy’s new product – Mineral 89 – to my skin. What I love about this is for days when I want just a super simple routine this can act just as a regular moisturizer on its own but for days when I’m feeling more ambitious I can use as the first step in my skincare routine and apply my other products on top.
For those of you who don’t know about Mineral 89 it’s a brand new product from Vichy which combines 89% Mineralizing Thermal Water with Hyaluronic Acid which helps boost your skin’s resistance to elements/aging caused by pollution, stress and fatigue. As some of you know, I had the chance to visit Vichy, France and get a closer look into the brand/product and instantly fell in love. The Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water comes from the heart of the French Volcanoes and is charged with 15 minerals to help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and protect skin against external elements. Why I love Mineral 89 so much is that it gives such incredible hydration to the skin and the thermal water is Mineral 89’s HERO ingredient.
10:45am-12pm: This is when I really get to work. I make sure my blog post for the day is up, check my emails and delete anything I don’t need. I respond to the e-mails that require a response to and take action on any that need it. Once I am done with my inbox, I’ll usually have to work on some drafts, upcoming projects and plan photoshoots and so on. I’ll also make sure to get my instagram posts up and respond to any comments.
And that’s it guys! Pretty much a simple morning but I consider them restful yet productive which is exactly the way I need them to be! I hope you guys enjoyed a little look into my mornings and some of the products I use on the regular. Want to try Mineral 89 or my other Vichy favorites for yourself?
