These days with so much on the internet and social media it can be an overwhelming place for us to feel confident at times. People think because I’m a blogger and I have a large following that I don’t know what that’s like but trust me I do. I’ve had moments when I’ve compared myself to others, been called mean things or sometimes read some not so nice comments. But let’s be honest — if you are someone (anyone) and have a platform there’s always going to be someone else who tries to tear you down.
My best advice? I used to care until I didn’t. Trust me, those people aren’t worth it.
Lately I have received messages, comments and emails from a lot of YOU who have been sending the kindest messages letting me know that you enjoy my blog, have been inspired by my blog, share my blog and so much more that it got me thinking I needed to re-cap since my last reflection post.
I am now on year 3 of having this blog and I have learned so much. So much about myself, so much about other people and so much that I didn’t even know existed to be honest. I’ve learned that people can be not so nice but that there are so many MORE people that can lift you up and truly help one another and I honestly think that’s the reason I’ve succeeded.
Well, that and hard work of course 😉
I’ve had some of you follow me from the beginning and for that — HOLY COW you are all angels because boy was my blog horrible at the beginning! Haha! BUT I don’t regret it one bit! I think there’s something about starting from the ground up when you truly want something and when people can judge you not based on your photoshop skills but for seeing a passion in you — that really says a lot.
I know it’s SO cliche and had I never been through this experience I probably would have rolled my eyes at ever writing a sentence like this but honestly when you work hard and you REALLY want something, you can make it happen, no matter what anyone ever tells you.
I truly hope you can sense how grateful I am for each and every one of you.
Thank you so much.
