Olive is the new black and if you knew that you’d get with the trend, quick. I’ve been incorporating this olive trend into my wardrobe these past fall/winter months and I’ve gotten so many compliments on the color everywhere I go. It’s like some forbidden thing that everyone forgets about and then remembers, “Oh yea, that color looks GOOD!” I picked up this olive shirtdress a few weeks back and just fell in love with it. I love the how it falls so perfectly, it’s so flowy and hits at the perfect length which lead me to think,.. why not talk about how to wear the olive trend?!
Since I love to layer clothing especially living here in San Diego, I thought this shirtdress was the perfect item and of course I picked a fab faux fur vest that has a bit of olive mixed in as well as white and black which kind of balances out the look and mixes it all up a little. Because I didn’t want to go for an all olive look, I added mysignature Rebecca Minkoff black crossbody bag and black ankle booties to finish off the look. This is a good way to wear a color trend without going overboard. Keep the color as the signature part of the look while accenting it with another main color. Also, be careful not to add too many colors too the look since you don’t want go looking like a walking coloring book if you catch my drift.
For today’s shoot it got a little rainy so as I said above, I did go for the ankle bootie BUT, this could easily transition to heels or platform sandals as discussed in yesterday’s post for another super cute look! I encourage you all to try out the olive trend for yourselves! Guaranteed you will not be disappointed!
