So today’s post is one of a three part series that I’m SUPER excited the share with you guys! It’s no secret we all hate hair, right? Well…body hair I should say. As an Esthetician, this is literally my field and well, not to give you TMI, but let’s just say I’m all about being hair free. Since I’ve been an Esthetician for about 4 years now, I’ve always opted for waxing because it’s just there for me and well, I don’t want to go somewhere for laser hair removal. I’m more of a DIY gal, if you know what I mean. Plus, laser hair removal costs a fortune and you really have to commit to very frequent office visits which I’ll be honest — I just haven’t had the time for. And as much as I’d love to say I’ll make time for it someday, I probably won’t.
For the longest time, I was thinking there HAS to be some sort of at home laser hair removal system and until then, I’ll be patient and wait it out. Enter in Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X. Now don’t get me wrong, when I first heard of it my initial thought along with, “OMG this is amazing,” was – this is WAY too good to be true so naturally….it can’t be.
You with me?
So I started doing some research and began reading more about it. I was SHOCKED when I read all of the rave reviews and success stories from real people who said it actually did work. So I said hey, I’ve GOT to try this out for myself and what better way than to document my trial for all of you? SO what I’ve decided to do is to use it for the suggested period of time and track my progress giving you all my HONEST opinion about it and tell you my experience.
The areas I’m hoping to treat are the areas I regularly wax — my legs, arms, bikini and upper lip.
So as an Esthetician, I’ve seen many women who have done laser hair removal professionally who still to this day come in to get waxed. It may not be often but they do still come periodically. I wanted to mention this because I want to make it clear to everyone that as much as I’d like to rid myself completely of all my hair (don’t we all), I know that at the beginning the results will be most likely be seen by thinning out coarser hair and possibly eliminating it eventually altogether. But hey, I’ll be happy if I only have to wax once in a while – lets be honest.
Now lets get to the specifics…
The Tria Hair Removal Laser 4x is the first and only FDA-cleared hair removal laser available for home use, using the same diode laser technology preferred by dermatologists. The Tria Laser 4X targets and permanently disables the hair follicle to stop hair growth on the face and body for permanent results. This device comes with a skin sensor that scans your color of skin and lets you know if it is safe for your pigment or not. You also are urged to test patches of your skin on low settings before so you can gage your skin’s reaction to the treatment before going to town on your entire body. Pretty smart if you ask me!
So now let’s get to the first trial…
I decided to try it on my arms for the first time. I was kind of terrified because well,… you hear so many horror stories about laser hair removal (at least as an Esthetician) so I was bracing myself for the worst. After my first zap, I didn’t feel a thing. Granted I think I was on Level 1 but hey, gotta start somewhere. You’re instructed that if you don’t feel the zap, you should increase the level until you do. I increased it to about Level 3 where I did start to feel it so I left it there. It pretty much feels like a little pinch or rubber band flick. Then, you simply move it over a tiny bit and repeat the process. Super easy and I did it all in the comfort of my bed!
Since this is only my first time using the device, I’ll definitely have more of an update for you in my next post with updated results and such as I’m supposed to use the laser once every two weeks for best results. However — so far so good!!
