The no makeup trend isn’t necessarily the newest trend in the books BUT lately it has taken a HUGE turn for the better. Recently, thanks to makeup-free ads, and all those popular #NoMakeupSelfies all over the Instagram world – the au naturel look is back and let me tell you… I’m loving it.
Being an Esthetician myself, I’ve always focused on good skin care and natural looks so to see that the natural low maintenance makeup look is “in” is such a big deal to me because finally we can all focus on what is really beautiful – US! I know, I know.. you’re probably thinking well then why in the world are you doing a tutorial, right!? Well, because I’m human and I’m a girl… and well, I can’t go out of the house looking like I just rolled out of bed but MINIMAL is key!
Before we begin with the makeup, I’m going to prep my skin with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer to create the perfect canvas, for smoother, more even and longer-lasting makeup. They have 10 targeted formulas for every skin type. I have chosen the ratifying formula for today’s look. You really just need a small amount and apply to cleansed skin. Now we’re ready to move on!The key to a no makeup makeup look is, of course, a flawless complexion so I tend to just focus more on a great foundation routine and keep everything else minimal. As long as your skin looks good, even and smooth, you really don’t need much more. So today I’m using a foundation that gives amazing coverage – MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Liquid Foundation with their Artisan Brush (#108). I just apply two pumps in thin layers all over my face and it goes on evenly and blends in smooth. Keep in mind, for this look we don’t want to overdo it so keep this step minimal – but you will see, you will get great coverage just with a couple pumps! Now just to touch up on a couple areas under my eyes and on my chin, I’m going to go in with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Color Stick Foundation and then blend it in with the same brush I have been using. What I love about this stick foundation is its totally versatile. It can be used as a foundation for contouring, or even as I’m doing now for a little concealing since I really like the consistency of this product. The shade I chose works perfectly for under my eye area, bridge of my nose and chin but if you choose a slightly darker shade you can also contour very easily in the hollows of your cheeks and the edges of your face which I think is GENIUS!Now I’m just going to simply set my foundation with a translucent powder mostly focusing on my t-zone area (and where I just applied the stick foundation) I’m using the HD Microfinish Powder from MAKE UP FOR EVER. Then just simply add a touch of blush to the apples of your cheeks. Do this lightly so it doesn’t look overdone for the look we are going for.Now simply just add a bit of mascara to open the eyes a bit. This is not necessary but I like to do it since my eyes tend to look a little tired without it. Finally, instead of using a lipstick, opt for a light pink colored lipgloss to give the appearance a very natural look and only enhance your natural lip color slightly. I am using MAKE UP FOREVER Artist Plexi-Gloss (#202).As you guys can see this is a very simple, natural look that took me less than 5 minutes to create. This natural no makeup look is so on trend right now and is something you all should definitely try! Embrace you’re natural self and just stick to finding a foundation that works for you. The rest is a piece of cake!
