One of my MOST asked questions I get is, “What is your skin care routine?” and, “What skin care products do you use?”
No joke, I probably get this on the daily which is probably a good thing because I am an Esthetician so if I wasn’t getting that question, I’d probably be slightly worried.
I’m always wanting to share but then hesitate because I catch myself going on rampages because that’s what us Esthetician’s do but today, I’ll try to keep it short and sweet.
HA, that’s a joke.
Anyways – let’s get to it! I’ll be running through some of my must have products AND (queue the fireworks) I’ve made these all available to purchase straight from my site here! Yay!
Alright, on with my must have skin care products…
EVERYDAY DAILY CLEANSER: ALGOTHERM CLEANSING MILK
Probably my most prized of all products here. I mean, I cannot remember a time I didn’t wash my face with this stuff. It’s literally been that long. Algotherm is a line from France (which is probably why I love it since I’m a Frenchy anyways) BUT French just know skin care right?! In particular what I love about the line is that it’s a marine based line so they have formulated everything from the ocean, algae, etc… Anyone ever notice that when you spend some time in the ocean your skin feels super amazing the next day? Well, marine cosmetics are the way to go!
In particular this cleansing milk is my favs because it’s a MILKY consistency. Too many people opt for gel based cleansers which actually tend to dry out the skin and/or make your skin more sensitive. This one is perfect for people with sensitive skin and will not break you out. Another thing is it doesn’t have a strong fragrance – cannot STAND products with crazy smells. All Algotherm’s smells are so subtle and amazing.
How I use: I wash my face with this morning and night and any other time I want to wash during the day (if desired). If I am wearing a lot of makeup that day, I wash a second time but usually once does the trick.
EVERYDAY TONER: ALGOTHERM TONER
To finish the cleansing process, I always use a toner. It helps get rid of any additional dirt, oil and you would be surprised how much makeup it picks up as well that you may have missed.
I use the Algotherm Comfort Micellar Water (Toner) usually at night time although you can use it morning, night or both. Again, this toner is extremely gentle, organic and will not irritate or break you out. Something very good to use daily.
How I use? Apply a small amount to cotton ball and wipe all over face.
TREATMENT NIGHT CREAM: GLYCOMILD 5%PM
For those of you who are wondering how to treat the skin of fine lines, wrinkles, acne, clogged pores, pigmentation etc.. then here is my next product!
This is my night cream. I use this about 2-3 times a week although some of our clients use this every night. Kind of depends on you. But since I already do a lot of glycolic treatments on my skin as it is, I stick to the cream about 2-3 times a week. Totally personal preference but let me tell you, this stuff is magic.
Basically, what this is is it is a nighttime moisturize but it has glycolic in it. It comes in increments of 5%, 10% and 15%. If you’ve never tried it then I’d recommend starting with the 5%. For those of you who don’t know, glycolic is an AHA and helps to deeply exfoliate the skin and rid it of impurities and such. While doing this, it helps with fine lines, acne and pigmentation. It also helps to tighten up the pores which we all love, right?
Our clients love this product and always say that the next morning after using it the skin looks amazing. It really does, though!! Another reason I love glycolic which I’ve talked about numerous times in my blog and YouTube videos is because it is not abrasive and does not over dry the skin.
How I use? I apply this to cleansed skin avoiding the eye area only at night time 2-3 times a week (although it can be used more if desired).
MASK: C + VITAMIN MASQUE
Many people neglect to do masks on a regular basis but they are such an important part of a skin care regimen and I cannot live without my mask ritual!! I do it ALL the time!!
This Vitamin C mask is my absolute favorite and our best selling mask by far. Not only does it have Vitamin C but it is rich with a complex of vitamins A, B, C & E that helps to deeply moisturize and increase skin elasticity, normalize dry, parched skin, aid in tissue repair and simulate collagen production. It is AMAZING for getting rid of redness (which is why I use it a lot) so which I have a red pimple, I just dab a little on, leave it and it magically gets rid of the redness within about 20 minutes!
How I use it? Apply thin layer all over cleansed skin. Wait about 20 minutes (although sometimes I leave it an hour or two while I watch tv). Rinse off and apply your moisturizer before bed!
EYE CREAM: DR. GRANDEL CONTOUR BALM
Too many people neglect this step, I swear! It’s so important to use an eye cream! Working in the field as an Esthetician for years now, the most common complaint I hear about women as they age are their eyes and lips and how they wish they would have taken better care of those areas and the wrinkles there that bother them.
The skin around the eyes is a lot thinner than the rest of the skin on your face, so it’s important to treat it with someone specially formulated for that area. I use the Dr. Grandel Contour balm and have now for years. I love that it’t not super thick for everyday use and I can also use it on my lips as well. If you guys go to purchase this, just keep in mine, the bottle I have showing above is a little different than the retail one. This is only because I have the large professional size but they are both the same product! Just in case you guys get confused.
How I use? Dab a small amount to the upper and lower lid area as well as the lips (if desired). I do this morning and night after applying my moisturizer.
I also use other products such as glycolic products for cleansing and toning and will talk about those in one of my next skin care posts since there is a lot to elaborate on with that topic!! You guys can still check out everything however available to purchase (which are all products I use) right here. Let me know if you all have any questions and I hope you enjoyed and found this helpful!
