Jeans are universal and timeless wouldn’t you say? No matter who you are and what your body type, there’s a denim style for you. I recently got some friends and readers involved in the denim topic and asked what they wanted to know, so today I’m sounding off with your denim questions!
What’s the rule when trying to rock a Canadian Tuxedo?
I like to pair a light chambray shirt with dark-wash denim. Another tip? I typically keep one half fairly fitted. For me, this usually is my lower half, and then I pick an oversized shirt to go with it. Going with too much of the oversized thing all over can really mess with the whole look so try to keep some shape on either the lower or upper half.
Should you wash your denim jeans often or not at all?
Washing denim isn’t a total no-no, but I will admit that I don’t wash mine that often unless I’m getting them very dirty. When your favorite pair of skinny jeans loses its shape, however, this is the perfect way to get it back, since they do shrink and tighten. If you are a little hesitant to wash, I would say wash them inside-out in cold water!
What is your take on wearing white year-round?
OMG, you guys, this is what this post is all about! I am all about wearing denim all year long. White jeans, shorts, capris—you name it. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you can probably see I wear white denim quite often. And as you can see from today’s post, I’m wearing my white denim shorts (in the “boyfriend style”) with a plaid flannel top and booties to give it that fall-inspired look! This is the perfect example of how you can incorporate white denim into any look this year!
How do you wear boyfriend jeans in a flattering way?
Girls who are tall with a boyish figure are blessed because they can pretty much wear any boyfriend jean, whether it’s baggy, cropped, or skinny. They can wear them with tees or sneakers, or dress them up with blazers, heels, etc.
For those of us on the petite side, I would say to choose a skinny boyfriend jean since they are slouching in the crotch and thighs and tapered at the ankles, which makes for a more flattering silhouette. This will look great with tees. If you want to wear boyfriend jeans in the winter, go with a fitted, slouchy pair, such as slim boyfriend jeans, since you’ll be wearing more layers and you don’t want it to give you too much of a sloppy appearance. Catch my drift?
