If your skin looks as dry and scaly as mine does after the winter then you are in need of some good exfoliation using a body mitt and/or body scrub to get your skin back to a smoother state. A few of my favorites I swear by are from JustNatural. Their Apricot Body Scrub and Turbinado Brown Sugar Body Scrub are absolutely amazing and have your skin feeling silky smooth after just one treatment. One of my favs (the apricot scrub) is is made with apricot kernel fiber which gently lifts and removes debris as macadamia nut oil and illipe butter delivers rich plant essences to your skin. Slough all over using gentle, circular motions twice a week to get rid of pore clogging dead skin cells. Another time I like to use a good scrub like this? When I want to rid my skin of excess sunscreen and oil built up. An added bonus to regular exfoliation is that it makes your skin more receptive to moisturizer making you in the end feel less dry.
Shower & Shave Smart
Wax, shave and tweeze your way to spring-ready skin. Now that winter’s over you won’t be able to hide those unshaven legs in jeans. Because there’s nothing fun about razor burn, change your blades often and keep skin well lathered while shaving. Another tip? Long, hot showers tend to be drying so if you can try to keep your showers on the shorter side and if you can handle it, finish with a cool risnse to close pores and leave skin feeling smooth. For body wash, find one that is on the natural side and doesn’t suck up all your natural oils. I’ve been using the JustNatural Moisturizing Body Wash since it is hydrating, leaving my skin clean and soft all over. It’s made of an ultra-rich blend of moisturizing Apricot, Coconut and Sweet Almond oils with Vitamin B5 to soften and give a radiant glow. Plus it smells delicious 🙂
This little tip goes more for the face but I thought it was worth mentioning. Throw away old makeup and update your collection with lighter, brighter spring colors. Invest in a good bronzer or highlighter to give you a sun-kissed look without the UV damage.
Like I said, my skin on my body is SO dry after the winter so I am kind of playing catch up in the Spring and getting it back to normal. I am obsessed with using body butters since it’s thicker than a regular body lotion and gives my skin exactly what it’s dying for. So for those times when serious moisturizing is needed, I use the Natural Body Shea Butter. Most body butters are made with water as their number one ingredient but this butter is made without any water. It is formulated with butters and plant oils for an ultra-concentrated moisturizer that will literally make your skin love you leaving it smooth, healthy and so soft! No mineral oil, petrolatum or silicone in it either. Win-win!
