Yay! My big closet reveal is finally here! I have always gotten tons of requests to see my closet/room and I will do a video eventually of the whole “room tour” BUT for now I finally have some pictures up after I had my closets completely re-done!
So let me tell you a little about how this all came about to begin with…
Prior to having my closets done, I had the standard closet with a rod going from one end to the other. Pretty normal — but you lose SO much space, right? I gave myself two closets (the master room and my spare room) and it still wasn’t enough. And yes, my boyfriend was booted to another room — oops! With what I do in fashion, I was beginning to run out of space (not to mention my rod was starting to bend since I was weighing it down with all my clothes)! Not only was it not enough, I was going crazy because I didn’t have any way to organize my clothes, shoes, hats, accessories, etc… To be honest, I couldn’t even tell you what was in each closet, so I finally had enough and told myself it was time to get organized.
I looked into different methods — Ikea, Home Depot, DIY and more… Although they would be less expensive, I just knew the quality wouldn’t be great. I wouldn’t know how to customize it, build it and let’s be real —
DIY?? What was I thinking?!?!
So I decided I was going to take the plunge and call California Closets. The initial consultation was free & I was told a designer would come to my house to give me an estimate. A few days later I met Suzi Beirle (my designer) and thank GOODNESS for her! She came to my home and after we discussed my wants and needs she went to work. She came up with some amazing designs and was able to show them to me in 3D form on a computer within 30 minutes. She took into account what I do for a living and made sure to create a closet that would be exactly what I needed.
Shoes were a HUGE concern for me as I had no good way of organizing them and she created the most amazing space for my shoes (it’s definitely my favorite part). It allows me to continue adding giving me room for about 74 pairs of shoes and I am able to grab them easily without doing a lot of digging. Since I live in So. Cal, I have tons of flats, sandals and flip flops so we added a row of cubby’s for all of those. I also wanted a space to display my hats and bags since they were just all over the place before. She gave me LOTS of shelves so now all my hats & bags are now on display and extremely accessible. Since I have tons of belts, we added a pull out belt rack as well as a pull out scarf rack and I must say — it was totally worth it. I was also “iffy” about the built in hampers but I ultimately went for it and I must say it was probably my best decision yet. I now have one closet for all my tops, bottoms, hats and drawers for my personal items. My other closet is all shoes, purses jackets and dresses.
I cannot tell you how nice it is to have an organized space/closet and I owe it all to Suzi & California Closets!
I would definitely recommend them if you guys are looking to get organized whether it be walk in closet, reach in or even garage (I had mine done too!). I’m telling you it’s SO worth it. Check out California Closets & make sure to ask for Suzi Beirle as your designer – she’s the best! You can also email her here!
