Fall is upon us and this is the time of year when people gather together and host parties and events to celebrate love, friendship and holidays. It’s also the time when you want to stay in, cuddle up to a movie and enjoy good food. The essentials for a good holiday party is the perfect food and my go to is finger foods since it minimizes dirty dishes and the pressure of time for a large group of people. Since I work every day, it’s so hard for me to spend hours in a kitchen and I’m always on the hunt for some great bites and quick meals. This past weekend I decided to head to my local Safeway store to take advantage of the Hillshire Farm Buy 3 Save 3 offer (save $3 when you buy any three participating Hillshire Brand products). I ended up putting together little bites to enjoy while we watched football and wanted to share how easy it can actually be! I put together my easy version of pigs in a blanket (literally SO easy) while serving it with some pumpkin bread on the side. These pigs in a blanket take about 5 minutes to prep and 10 minutes to cook and look impressive for guests and make great finger foods! Not only that, but you’d be surprised how quick they fill you up!
Cut each crescent roll triangle in half (like above)
If desired, place a small slice of cheese prior to rolling, however I prefer without. Place wrapped sausage point side down on baking sheet which has been lightly greased.
remaining sausages. Bake 9-10 minutes until golden brown. Serve with condiment of your choice, although for healthier version I opt to eat as is. The sausage already gives it so much natural flavoring!
