I used to have the hardest time with my hair. I was always dying, highlighting, straightening, curling and repeating the cycle over and over again until it was so damaged I had to chop it all off. I finally decided, what the heck am I doing? Why don’t I just keep my natural hair color & see where that gets me? Needless to say, best decision I’ve ever made. Why don’t we ever listen to our parents? Shortly after, I went to beauty school and although it was primarily for skin, I did learn a little about hair & did my research. I started taking care of my hair, getting regular trims, keratin treatments & most importantly staying away from those darn box dyes! Now, this isn’t to say that I’ll never dye my hair again, but at least from now on I’ll proceed with caution.
After getting my beauty license and finding out I could shop at a discounted rate at the professional beauty supply stores (dangerous), I started experimenting with all the top hair products. I am a regular with Keratin hair treatments so this means sulfate-free products only. Those of you who do not have Keratin in your hair can still use these and they will make a world of difference because it will put that protein back into your hair. Getting to the point, I just bought the Pureology & Lanza brands this past weekend &
have to say I am absolutely LOVING them! Was washing my hair tonight
thinking how much I loved them and then it dawned me I should share!
The Pureology Essential Repair Shampoo is great! It is a sulfate-free, salt-free, colour-preserving formula derived from coconut, corn and sugar. Because I have thin hair that tends to break, this one helps at repairing the hair restoring its strength. Also helps with color retention for those who do have color in your hair.
The Lanza Healing Moisture Kukui Nut Conditioner (available here) is an amazing sulfate-free conditioner. I especially love this condtioner because it has the Keratin Healing System which I’m a big supporter of. As hair becomes damaged, the hair fiber loses protein, moisture, and
minerals. Lanza products replace these vital components back into
the hair. The cuticle is then sealed, locking in the benefits and
protecting the hair from future damage (can read more here). You can definitely feel the thickness of this conditioner and I can tell it is putting moisture back into my hair and doing wonders! Plus, if you’ve ever wondered what Hawaii smelled like, it’s this.
