Shellac has quickly become one of the new “must-haves.” It has done miracles for me. As an Esthetician, my hands are always in water, moisturizers, creams, and sticky wax. Regular nail polish never stands a chance. If I’m lucky, I can get about an hour or two without chipping my nails. Plus, I am so incredibly impatient I can’t sit still and wait for them to dry. Needless to say, until Shellac my hands were always bare. Once I heard about Shellac and started getting them regularly at the Nail Salons but my wallet started to feel it. Typically, a salon procedure ranges from $30-$35 but lasts about two weeks. When I would visit the beauty supply stores I would see the CND Shellac Nail Polishes for sale & it dawned on me… Why don’t I try & do it myself?! I bought all the supplies and did some research and now, here I am– doing my own Shellac manicures about every one to two weeks in the comfort of my own home! So now, I’m here to teach you the same thing!
What you will need:
-UV Lamp for curing nails (Like the one here)
-Shellac Base Coat
-Shellac Top Coat
-Shellac Color Nail Polish of your choice
Step 1: File nails into desired shape.
Step 2: Push back cuticles.
Step 3: Apply a coat of the shellac base coat.
Step 4: Cure each hand for 10 seconds.
Step 5: Apply the 1st coat of the shellac color you have chosen. As you can see, I have chosen red.
Step 6: Cure each hand for 2 minutes.
Step 7: Apply a 2nd coat of your shellac color. In my case, a second coat of red.
Step 8: Cure each hand for 2 minutes.
Step 9: Apply one coat of shellac top coat.
Step 10: Apply rubbing alcohol onto cotton pad and wipe each nail to remove sticky film/residue.
And that is all! Perfect shiny salon nails with no drying time! You are now a pro…and a little bit richer 😉
